It all started in the early 90's, the goal was to produce the best and finest Merino Wool in Uruguay.
All of our animals are raised in the open, letting them grow roaming around in our fields.

The Superfine Merino Wool project started in the early 90's, when Marco Frignani alongside Carmen Formoso met with Bullamallita, Merryville and Glenleigh Merino Studs in Australia and acquired 1400 doses of semen from their best rams.

Soon after that, the project begun to develop in Uruguay. It has been a long road, filled with experiences and teachings that has lead us to have a solid, homogeneous and beautiful Merino Sheep Flock.

We are based in Uruguay, working with our two farms totaling 4800 hectares, each one different and complementary to the other, providing us with the flexibility and ability to sort all kinds of daily production issues in order to achieve our goal, to shed premium Superfine Merino Wool.

To this day, we have a flock of over 5000 sheep producing Merino Wool, averaging less than 18 microns and all of this is achieved in the open field. Our wool stands out for its properties that, in addition to its fine diameter, follow the Italian Style wool, with fine crimps, white color, strong long fibers and a next to none itchiness factor.

All is done extensively in open fields where our animals are free to roam around. We also have improved the land by planting and growing pastures that feed our animals when they most need it.

Our Merino Sheep share the land with our cows, mainly Angus breed, horses and other wild animals from Uruguay.

We chose Merino Wool because we consider it to be the best wool to produce top quality garments.

It has a number of properties such as it's ability to keep you warm even when wet, softness, low thread diameter and strength.

We are constantly perfecting the genetics of our flock with controlled new gene pools additions in the pursuit of further increasing the quality of our sheep and wool.
